On today’s episode, North Platte guitar prodigy, Jack Bunger joins us in the studio. Jack is a senior at North Platte High School and one of our students in the NebraskaLand University Program. Jack and the Pros will be playing a variety of blues-rock at the Fox Theater on Saturday, March 5th.

NLB employees can be found volunteering at a variety of events throughout the year; after all, we take great pride in our volunteerism.  Not only are the employees of NLB generous with their time, but they also give back to the community monetarily through the “My Fair Share Program”. In 2004, the “My Fair Share” program was born from our culture and the commitment to do our part to make the communities we live in places that we can be proud of.

We are excited to be joined by Gary Person on today’s show. He’s the president and CEO of the North Platte Area Chamber and Development Corporation. On today’s show, we are going to discuss the proposed North Platte rail park and explore its significance to the community.

This might be our favorite episode so far! Is it because Brandon and Jack brought some amazing coffee samples to the podcast studio? Partly, but we also had a blast sitting down with Brandon, owner of the Espresso Shoppe in North Platte and his son Jack. We're big fans of coffee around here and this duo did not disappoint. We learned a latte about coffee, roasting beans, and brew techniques. We had a great conversation with Casey Schiel this week. Casey is a North Platte firefighter, golf pro, and inventor. Casey invented the Eye Putt Pro and is currently developing a night light that encourages children to keep their bedroom doors closed for increased protection from home fires.
