Making the North Platte Rail Park a Reality

With Gary Person

Making the North Platte Rail Park a Reality

We are excited to be joined by Gary Person on today’s show. He’s the president and CEO of the North Platte Area Chamber and Development Corporation. On today’s show, we are going to discuss the proposed North Platte rail park and explore its significance to the community.

The North Platte rail park is currently in the application phase to the Nebraska department of economic development but has a lot of promise for the community and our economy. Rail access in Lincoln County has historically been restricted, but this park could help change that.

Along with opening up rail access, it would bring more diversification to our economy, helping us recruit new industry in North Platte. This project has the potential to have $1.8 billion dollars of economic impact annually and 2,000 jobs. Even half of that is a huge game-changer in our economy and North Platte’s growth.

Join us today as we explore:

  • Why is this park needed in Lincoln County?
  • How will it help diversify North Platte’s economy?
  • The legislation being introduced to help with funding
  • How this park can help with the manufacturing industry
  • Why this park is important for jobs, taxes, and more
