NLU Instructors

Mike Jacobson

President & CEO

Mike Jacobson, along with few employees and a small group of local shareholders, founded the Bank in 1998 with $3 million in initial capital. Today the bank exceeds $940million in total assets and has just over 100 employees, 10 board members, and approximately 120 local shareholders. Mike’s humble beginning started on a family farm in Clay County, Nebraska. He attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln and after a brief time as an agricultural education instructor, he began his career in banking.

Kim Schroll

Executive Vice President
Chief Operating Officer

Kim’s career began in high school at the First National Bank in O’Neill where she was a runner, shredder and worked in the mail room. Kim studied computer programming in college and her first full time job in a Bank was as a teller/bookkeeper. Kim has worked for NebraskaLand Bank since it was chartered in 1998. She started as the Senior Operations Officer and led the Bank’s marketing, human resources, operations and technology efforts. At the time, Kim was just 29 years old.

Ty Lucas

Executive Vice President
Chief Lending Officer

Ty is a native of North Platte and graduate of North Platte High School. He then attended College at the University of Florida and graduated with a degree in Business Management/Finance. Ty later earned a degree from the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin. Ty has worked in banking for over 21 years. He started at NebraskaLand Bank in 2002 as a Commercial Lender. Today, he manages a customer portfolio and oversees the lending in the three markets the Bank serves. Ty also serves on the North Platte City Council.

Krista Heiss

Executive Vice President
Chief Credit Officer

Krista Heiss joined the Bank after graduating college with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis Finance. She has been with the Bank since it was chartered in 1998. In the beginning, Krista’s primary role was running the Loan Administration department, but since the Bank was a new charter, she also helped out in other areas such as Teller and New Accounts. This was a tremendous opportunity to learn many other jobs in the Bank. Today, Krista is an Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer, overseeing the asset quality and operational functions of the Bank’s Loan Department while also managing a commercial loan portfolio.

Amy Wolfskill

Senior Vice President
Business & Retail Banking Manager

Amy is an experienced banking professional with eighteen years of exceptional service in the industry. She is a proud alumna of North Platte High School and Doane University, where she obtained her degree in Human Relations. Always looking to learn and increase her expertise, Amy's career began right after high school when she took on a teller position while attending college courses. Amy worked for NebraskaLand Bank for two years before moving to Lincoln in 2011. After graduating from Doane University Amy returned to NebraskaLand Bank in 2015. In her current role, Amy specializes in providing exceptional customer service and works closely with both business and retail customers, while giving back to the community through her work on the Hershey Public School Board. Her passion for helping others makes her an invaluable asset both professionally and personally.

Ginny Harshbarger

Senior Vice President
Chief Technology Officer

Ginny Harshbarger has worked at NebraskaLand Bank for 16 years. When she started, she was the only person responsible for the Bank’s Information Technology department. Today, she leads a department of five. Prior to banking, Ginny worked for a computer service provider in Lincoln, Nebraska where she gained experience working with all kinds of computer systems. Ginny is a Certified Banking Security Manager and hopes to obtain additional security certifications in the future.

Hans Julius

Senior Vice President
Agricultural & Business Banking

Hans grew up in the Sandhills of Nebraska on a small family ranch, graduating from Arthur County High School. He obtained a degree in Business Administration, Marketing and Management from Midland University and later a graduate degree from the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin. Hans started his banking career in a small community bank as a teller during college working into different roles throughout the banking industry. Hans has been in banking for 20 years joining NebraskaLand Bank in 2006 as an Agricultural and Commercial Lender, where he continues to manage and grow a customer portfolio.

JD Race

Senior Vice President
Agricultural & Business Banking

JD grew up farming and ranching in Big Springs, NE, graduating from South Platte High School, where he developed the work ethic and discipline that defines his career. He obtained a degree from Central Community College in Hastings, NE, in Technology. JD began his banking career in 2005 as a personal banker and quickly became an Ag Lender by 2008. With 19 years of experience, JD has built extensive expertise in the banking sector. Since 2016, he has been a valued part of the NLB team, managing a diverse customer portfolio and overseeing agricultural lending in Kearney and Rock Springs, WY.

David Fudge

Business Banking Officer

David’s career spans banking, media, marketing, transportation, tourism, non-profit work, and small business ownership, providing valuable insights to support our business clients. Beyond the corporate world, David has held key roles in non-profits, including the Nebraska Travel Association, Nebraska Broadcasters Association, and North Platte Ambassadors. He is also the Chairman of the North Platte Planning Commission. David's community commitment and professional expertise make him a valuable team asset and a trusted advisor to our customers.
