New Faces at NebraskaLand Bank

Let’s talk about 2020; no not about tigers, murder hornets, or the pandemic. Let’s talk about all the new faces at NebraskaLand Bank. No matter what is happening in the world you can count on NLB’s dedication to our customers and community!  We are excited to introduce you to the newest members of the NLB team.

Shelby Crowell is the newest Loan Services Specialist.  Co-worker Kelsey Daily, Loan Service Specialist said about working with Shelby “Shelby is a wonderful addition to our department. We asked Shelby, what’s your favorite thing about working at NLB so far?

“My Coworkers and the fun, easy-going work atmosphere.

What is the best advice anyone has given you?

“To take pride in what you do because there is always someone wishing they had your opportunities.

What is your favorite quote?

“Be Kind, always.  For everyone is battling something you know nothing about.”

What is on your wish list for the next 10 years with NLB?

“Be an asset to my team. Learn something new each day. Be someone people look to because of my attitude, reliability and knowledge”

Josh Sperle joined the NLB team as a Business Banking Officer.Josh brings a refreshing twist to the commercial loan department. His light humor to our daily grind and experience in dealing with home borrowers adds a strong piece to the lending puzzle. Mike Honerman, Business Banking Officer said when asked what is was like working with Josh.  “The following is an actual email quote from Sperle that depicts his fun attitude towards his co-workers in the workplace. ‘My sense of humor is my defining attribute. We asked Josh, what is one word your co-workers might use to describe you?

“Hilarious. Either that or athletic.  Or Humble….”

What keeps you motivated?

“My family- my wife Katelyn, and our two beautiful girls, Joy and Leah.  I also enjoy tackling new challenges each day.

What is the best advice anyone has given you?

“Don’t be an idiot.” Changed my life!

What is your favorite quote?

“If you can’t accept anything on faith, then you’re doomed to a life dominated by doubt.”

What makes you proud to work at NLB?

“The team I get to work with is selfless, patient, and talented.  It’s humbling to get to be a part of this crew.”

Levi Nicholson joined our IT department as an IT Specialist. “Levi brings expertise to IT in networking and server applications, he also brings a fun, but serious attitude and a disciplined work ethic.” said co-worker David Hayes, IT Specialist.  photo of Levi Nicholson

What makes you proud to work at NLB?

“The employees are amazing. Everyone is so nice and the overall work atmosphere is uplifting. Also NLB has always been involved and active in the community, which is awesome.”

“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass…It’s about learning to dance in the rain.” –Vivian Greene

Lindsey Bernal is the newest member of the Personal Banking Department at our Main location in North Platte, Lindsey originally joined our team as a teller in August.  Lindsey’s co-worker Lisa Russell Senior Teller described Lindsey in four words, “Astute, good vibe, and intuitive.”  Photo of Lindsey

We asked Lindsey, What is your favorite thing about working at NLB?

“I love all my fellow co-workers and the energy we all bring every day to give customers the best possible experience!”

What keeps you motivated? 

“My family J and continually learning new things every day and achieving goals that are set for myself.” 

What makes you proud to work at NLB?

“I am extremely proud and honored to be a part of the NLB team because we are very involved in serving our community and truly wanting to benefit the community as much as possible. I am very proud to be a part of NLB because of how much we all truly care for one another and our customers.  NLB provides a great work atmosphere that makes such an enjoyable experience.  In the short amount of time I have worked here, everyone is always so inviting and welcomes you in with open arms.” 

What is one thing that makes you stand out in your role at NLB?

“I would have to say I’m very astute and adaptable to new challenges.”

What is on your wish list for the next 10 years with NLB?

“To continue to succeed in my position each day and provide our customers with the best service.  I look forward to the years to come at NLB.” J

Kaite Franzen joined the NLB team in the Finance Department as an Internal Auditor. Kendal Dodge, Vice President Chief Risk Officer said “Kaite brings expertise and knowledge to the department along with showing a strong work ethic and positive attitude. We asked Kaite, what keeps you motivated?

“Knowing that there is always continuous personal and career growth available to me and working towards things that will allow me to experience the world and make memories in life with friends and family.”

What makes you proud to work at NLB?

“The family and community atmosphere of the bank is what makes me proud to be a part of NLB. The bank actively focuses on creating meaningful relationships with the communities they do business with and the people that make them up. The feeling of family and knowing the values that NLB represents is what makes coming in to work every day enjoyable!”

What is the best advice anyone has given you? 

“The best advice anyone has given me is to never ever give up on bettering yourself.”

What is your favorite quote?

“The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience” –Eleanor Roosevelt

“I love getting to talk to everyone, customers & co-workers! I love hearing what’s going on in everyone’s lives

What is one word your co-workers might use to describe you?

“Friendly”

What makes you proud to work at NLB?

“That everyone who works here is super friendly & everyone is actually getting to know me! Also, that it is a community minded bank. They give so much support to our community!”

What keeps you motivated?

“My paycheck!! HAHA! Actually, my husband & my 2 cats are great supporters! My husband tells me every day to have a great day & asks how my day went when I get home! My cats bug me until I leave the house (because they want treats) and are so excited to see me when I get home!” J

What is one thing that makes you stand out in your role at NLB?

“I guess I would say my customer support. I love talking with customers!”

What is the best advice anyone has given you? 

“Don’t give up!”

What is your favorite quote?

“If you’re gonna dream, dream big!”

What is on your wish list for the next 10 years with NLB?

“To get a little taller, so customers can actually see me over the teller walls! Okay, so it’s not going to happen, but a girl can dream! Actually, I hope to try out a different department in the bank.”
