During the month of August, we had several events happening in North Platte, but also at our new location in Kearney! The new branch opened on July 15 and hosted a Grand Opening Celebration on August 8. Our staff welcomed in the Kearney community for lunch, music, socializing and giveaways. Music was provided by the local band Thalken Tesdall Thalken and Sozo’s American Cuisine cooked the meal on the NebraskaLand National Bank Grill. We were provided great radio coverage by Scotty O, of Y102 Radio who interviewed several of our employees to inquire about the event, our products and the vision for the Kearney branch.

We were able to give away two “Tour of Kearney” packages. These included NebraskaLand National Bank merchandise, gift cards to local businesses and passes to area museums. Several people registered throughout the event, and we say congratulations to our winners, Mark Loseke and Larry Peterson!

The Grand Opening gave us a way to introduce the local values of our Bank to the community. We had a wonderful turnout of Chamber members and staff to help with the ribbon cutting ceremony and heard from Chamber Board Chair, Betty Warren and City Councilman, Randy Buschkoetter. The Kearney staff members were all present to cut the ribbon and mark the “right of passage” into the new community.

With the great day, came a great many thank yous. First, to our shareholders for helping turn the Kearney branch from a vision into a reality. Their faith in our future and backing of our tagline, “Local People. Local Decisions. Local Ownership.,” helped this project proceed. Secondly, a thank you went to the construction crews of Weiss Co. and Blessing Construction. They had 25 days from when the modular building was set on the ground until the doors opened and produced a phenomenal product in a short amount of time. The last thank you went to the community of Kearney. The warm reception we received from the chamber, city, businesses and citizens made the transition smooth, simple and successful.

We look forward to expanding in the Kearney market. Although we are in a new town, our values remain the same. Personalized service, competitive rates and investing in our customers and community are our focus. We are excited to serve to the people of Kearney!
