NebraskaLand Bank is celebrating their 25th anniversary in a unique way by launching the Project [Blank] initiative!

Each year, our employees nominate various organizations in our community to be the recipients of monetary donations contributed solely by the Bank employees. The “My Fair Share” program allows employees to decide what percentage of their contribution will directly benefit each organization. The recipients of the 2022 My Fair Share Program are Rape & Domestic Abuse Program, North Platte Trails Network, North Platte Area Children’s Museum, PAWS-itive Partners, Todd Becker Foundation, Kearney Area Animal Shelter, S.A.F.E. Center, Red Desert Humane Society and Hospice of Sweetwater County.

NLB employees can be found volunteering at a variety of events throughout the year; after all, we take great pride in our volunteerism.  Not only are the employees of NLB generous with their time, but they also give back to the community monetarily through the “My Fair Share Program”. In 2004, the “My Fair Share” program was born from our culture and the commitment to do our part to make the communities we live in places that we can be proud of.

It’s that time again for NLB’s annual “Race to a Million”.  For the next 90 days NLB teams of three will be lacing up their walking shoes and putting their best feet forward and race to be the first team to reach one million steps.  The first team to reach a million steps will win bragging rights, and a total of $750 for the team to donate to the nonprofit of their choice.  That $250 for each team member! 

Throughout the month of November, we will be running our “Thankful and Grateful” series, on Facebook and Instagram. Through this series we will be highlighting local community organizations that we sponsor. We want to let you know what they do, why we are grateful to have them in our community, and what you can do to get involved. 

On October 10^th 2019, the North Platte Area Chamber and Development held their Annual Meeting and Social. We are proud that Mike Jacobson, President and CEO of NebraskaLand Bank received the Community Impact Volunteer of the Year award.  Mike’s dedication and service to the community has a continuous impact on the team that he leads. This award is a testament to the way that Mike leads by example at NLB. 

NebraskaLand Bank has been named one of the Best Banks to Work for in 2019. NebraskaLand Bank was the only Nebraska bank in the ranking.

The Best Banks to Work For program, which was initiated in 2013 by American Banker and Best Companies Group, identifies, recognizes and honors U.S. banks for outstanding employee satisfaction. Our NebraskaLand Bank “Race to a Million” started as a wellness initiative, but then it morphed something bigger and better: a community-minded well-being program.

If you’ve been with NebraskaLand Bank for just about any period of time, you’ve probably noticed that we strongly identify ourselves as a community bank - but why, exactly? What’s the importance of a community bank, and why do we closely associate our banking business with the local community? Well, there are many valid reasons that answer those questions, and that will serve as the framework for today’s blog post. 

It’s Random Acts of Kindness Day on Friday, February 17, 2017.  In recognition of this special day, NebraskaLand Bank is presenting donations to the 2016 My Fair Share recipients.
